My Transformation Experiences: (start point / obstacles / milestones / triumphs)
"You are so skinny", others would tell me. I was just 80 pounds , no energy and just a skinny asian from Korea.
When I became 30yrs, my ex boyfriend took me to Y.M.C.A. and got me into the fitness world.
The moment I lifted dumbbells, I knew it was my passion. three times a week, four times a week...and now I wake up with a smile, as I know I will start my day with training. It became my life.
In 2008 I felt I was ready both physically and mentally to compete in regional competition.
I had 14 weeks to get leaner and be ready for a show. The only way I could complete the awesome task of strict diet and exercise was to take one week at a time and enjoy the moment of it. I needed to be precise with timing of foods and supplements to make sure things would go as planned.
Our energy levels and our moods are controlled by what we put into our system. I had to be sure everything remained on track. The toughest part was depletion of carbohydrates, necessary for body definition. then, keeping focused became very difficult.
The final stretch was the most demanding mentally. I can honestly now say those few calories for the active person is just a tease in food. It is virtually impossible to function and you are only as strong as your mind. I had no choice but to keep repeating to myself this was my passion and I need to give it 110%, If I want to beat myself and be a champ.
Getting back to track everyday way my main task. great friends and my dad( who passed away 3 years ago) inspired me throughout the entire process, from start to finish. This helped me to realize myself, so I could put all my heart into this great project.
Final touch up...posing, creating my own routine and beauty care were but a few of my daily chores. I believe that no matter how good you look, If you don't know how to pose on the stage, you can't get to the top. every day and night, I gave time to practice posing and routine. I often spoke to my dad, "please, watch me over until I get to the top."
On the day of the competition, I had butterflies in my stomach. I told myself " Veronica! You did your best, now let's have fun and show the result of your hard work." When I was on the stage, I sensed my dad watching and he was so proud of me.
It was a huge night for me to enjoy every single moment on the stage as I won first place in all the categories I entered: master, short class, overall and the best routine!!
All the hard work finally paid off that night. I told my Dad " I won it all. I hope I made you proud . Thanks you for believing in me.
Love You Forever!"
My credo is that there is always room for improvement and i am presently preparing for the nest show. so, if you want something in your life, go for it, give it 110% and you will get it. i know you will...trust me.
