Being Body Proud is about respecting yourself... Your body is the ultimate machine and it's yours for life! So treat it well. Give it all the fuel it needs to run its most efficient and be its most effective. Improve your strength, flexibility, posture, health and even confidence. Then Inspire Body Proud to your family and friends!: No picture of myself yet but I'll have one soon to be later used as my "before" picture.

I Joined the Body Proud Community to: Meet Like-Minded Individuals who Share 'My Story'

My Facts 'n Stats:: 6'2" 175lbs. body fat % about 9 or 10.
New England farm boy in a big [tropical] city.

My Background // My 'Story": Martial artist for 9 years. Several major injuries ranging from achilles tendonitis due to over training to a motorcycle crash ripping my knee wide open to torn muscles in my back from weightlifting have set me back and joining bodyproud.org is my personal way of getting back on track to were I think I should be.

My Body Proud Beliefs:: I don't have to be a FAME Pro to be body proud but I can accomplish what ever I set my mind on.

My Most Proud Moments // My Claim to 'FAME':: Obtaining my black belt (all three times!).

My Prime Body Proud Goals:: Increase My Confidence, Improve my Health, Gain More Flexibility, Increase My Strength, Keep Me Young, Feel Better about Myself, Improve My Posture, Sculpt My Physique, Attain Proper Symmetry, Feel Good in a Bathing Suit, Be an Inspiration to Others

Timeframe &/or Plan to Reach My Body Proud Goals: My first goal: By Aug. 21st loose 3 inches off my waist, get some better muscular definition in my arms and do front and back tucks and handsprings (without the need for a spotter anymore)!

Ultimate goal: To always be proud of my body and never ashamed of it. As a martial artist, you find out the most unassuming people can possess amazing skill and that it does not matter what you look like, it matters what you can do. But looking good never hurt anybody and helps personal confidence.

I Am Looking for Advice On:: Working out without the use of weights or machines.

My Body Proud Journey Starts Here (Blog Entry #1): Being out of shape does not necessarily mean over weight. I am not chubby, but I could look, feel, and be better then I am today. My journey starts here on June 27th 2009 to become body proud. My ultimate goal WILL be realized by setting many smaller goals with deadlines so I'm always working toward something specific without ever feeling overwhelmed by an enormous task that could take years.

My Philosophy on Nutrition, Physical Fitness &/or Focused Thinking:: Vegan diet, natural training. Emphasize flexibility, and keep the use of weights to a minimum

My Advice to You to Help You Reach Your Body Proud Goals:: Train smart, not hard. And don't sweat the small stuff.

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't; you're right!

A Few Words about my Hero / Role Model / Trainer / Sponsor / Coach: My father, a chiropractor, who raised me with an active lifestyle and introduced me to exercising, nutrition, and preventative health care from early on. He now has fibromyalgia and can no longer participate in such activities. I do it to make him proud of me just as much as I do it to be proud of myself. Body Proud!
