My Body Proud Journey Starts Here (Blog Entry #1)
Have you ever thought… What inspires YOU? What is it that drives you day in and day out?
We think of creative people as being inspired and ask about their work. What inspired them to paint, draw, or produce this piece of work? Usually the answer is: a book, poem, film, experience, person or a place. Something else or someone else inspired the artist or the songwriter.

But what about the person in a regular job?

Inspiration is a desire to live life without flinching. Try taking a risk, even if you might fail. Try acting on your emotions, creativity, ability and your beliefs. Take criticism but have the faith in yourself to do it anyway. It’s hard work, but then hard work never killed anyone (or so my Dad says).

You can begin to see that if nothing inspires you or excites you or lights up your life you are really missing something. You are just like a robot performing task after task.

What inspires me, is the thought that I am more than my body. My limitations are only down to my thoughts. Thus I want to keep pushing the boundaries to find out what is there. I want to find out what I can communicate to the world. I am inspired by the fact that through what I do I may enable another person to open their mind. To remove the blinkers and reach their possibilities.

Inspiration is linked to innovation. To introduce new ways of seeing things. Inspiration is a way of understanding the essence of ourselves. Understanding who we are and what we dream about. Whatever it is that inspires you, it is the core of your very being.

So what is it? When we tap into whatever it is that inspires us we are able to share our ideas, thoughts and emotions. As we share and show our dreams, emotions and ideas and thoughts then we gradually become to understand the person we truly are.

Can you really live without knowing what inspires you
My Philosophy on Nutrition, Physical Fitness &/or Focused Thinking:
Its about setting realistic attainable goals. The name of my company is Inside & O.U.T. Fitness. I truly believe that one must change on the inside before you can make the changes you want on the outside. Without Nutrition, you will never be able to achieve your physical goals!
My Dietary &/or Training Routine:
I train my body like a body builder. One body part per day...to FAILURE... I am a weight room jukie.. some call me a "meat head". I prefer weights that cardio.. but I know you need a combo of both to achieve what I have!
I am Grateful For:
My children and my best friend/boyfriend.
My Advice to You to Help You Reach Your Body Proud Goals:
Love yourself. Do not compare your body to anyone else...be your best, strive to be better...for you.
A Few Words about my Hero / Role Model / Trainer / Sponsor / Coach
I have three heros. My children... my true motivation in everything I do. They are the strongest and most inspiring kids I have ever met. I was put on earth to be a wife and a mama... everything else is something I HAVE to do...they are the reason I breath. My partner/trainer/motivator and best friend Allen...he make me want to be a better woman. He encourags me, keeps me strong when I feel weak and always reminds me on days I am feeling discouraged... just how far I have come!

New Year's Resolutions!

Let me tell you, working in the fitness industry, this is one of the busiest times of the year. Everywhere you turn, people are focused on the things in their life they need to change, and many times (especially at this time of the year after maybe indulging a little too much during the holiday season) this includes their state of health.

What I have found in my experience is that a lot of people fail to keep their “resolutions” because these resolutions are usually based on the negative concep… Continue

Getting through the Holiday Season!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas weekend! This can be a stressful time to try to stick to a regular routine and maintain healthy habits.

Here are some tips for making it through the next month…

1) Have a plan. I’ll say it again and again: a plan is crucial to success. Anticipate sticky situations you could encounter and plan your course of action. Planning beforehand which low-calorie drinks you’ll order and which healthy foods you will fill up on is the difference between self-control and… Continue

Happiness is a journey... not a destination!

We convince ourselves that life
will be better after we get married,
have a baby, then another.
Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough
and we'll be more content when they are.

After that we're frustrated that we
have teenagers to deal with,
we will certainly be happy
when they are out of that… Continue

I was looking on line, to find more info on you! I'd like to say congrats on your success.. and You have inspired me to Get it crackin lol! Get moving and doing it more often! I found this page though and thought you should know about it. To me it kind of suggest that you had some kind of surgery or something.. did you have bypass or lap band? or any drugs to help? I was hoping it was just straight work... Because that is how I plan to do it.. I was looking into HCG. If your familiar with that. Not sure if I am going to try that or not. anyway, Check out this link.. They are calling you their very own.http://www.bluepointgroup.com/2009/11/09/our-very-own-amy-barnes-featured-on-the-today-show/ I know you live there, but It kind of upset me because it makes it seem like you had surgery or some assistance from their facility. Anyway. Do you have a facebook? I find it easier to communicate with people on their. I have a few questions, but I will wait until you accept my friend request! Thanks =)

Hey! Merry Christmas!
I've been struggeling over the Holidays. One min I get back on track and then one day I sabotage it. Its been a yoyo thing for a bit. One the positive side. I started a new routine.. started lifting heavier and changed up my daily schedule at the gym. The problem is food intake... Holiday get togethers.. etc. Over a week period I would say that 4 days good and 2-3 days not so good.. on the food. I havent missed any gym time.. but I'm not on track with my weightloss. My Husband might be coming home earlier than expected from Afgan. and that is awsome! But I cant help but feel pressure.. because I had goals for a month later down the road. As i type this out... I know that I just need to be flexable and get back on track. I'm thankful that I'm not gaining weight. If I can get my mind on track with my cravings... i'll be back at loosing in no time. Its funny how you can be so focused as long as you dont eat any sugar.. your able to pass on all the bad stuff. As soon as I ate something wrong in Nov.. it was a spiral ... like a drug addict.. but only with food.
