Routines Only allows competitors the opportunity to perform a two-minute athletic routine choreographed to music of their choice. The routine should demonstrate personality, creativity, athleticism and overall entertainment.
Props, themes &/or costumes are allowed and encouraged if they add to the overall performance.
This Category is for individuals who do not wish to participate in a physique contest - it is ONLY Routine. There are other categories that include routines as well, including:
* Figure - Posing & Routine
BEST ROUTINES CATEGORY:
Incorporate Your Talents!
* Martial Arts ~ Cheer/tumbling/stunts ~ Dance ~ B-Boy / Breaking ~ Baton ~ Numchucks etc (Anything goes)!
No Mandatory Moves!
Just ensure that you are able to execute all moves properly and with seemingly ease.
The entire routine should be fluid, well choreographed and make use of the whole stage. High energy and the wow factor should be maintained from start to finish. Competitors should connect with the audience and include facial expressions and smiles.
Props may be used but are not required. Prop set up & tear down must not take longer than 20 seconds, as this just delays the show for everyone. If you have any large or unusual props such as dry ice, smoke or pyrotechnics, please contact us. Thanks!
Routine music should be professionally recorded complete with sound effects and song &/or beat changes to make it unique. Athletes must hand in their music on CD at the athlete registration meeting.
For the Routine Round athletes are expected to be creative. The point is to entertain the audience so elaborate costumes and themes are the norm. This is your time to play and enjoy!! Footwear is optional. Thongs and outfits that may seem overly provocative can result in a deduction of points.
Generally events have a stage no smaller than 24 by 30 wide. Sometimes they are a lot larger. When practicing your routine, come prepared to modify if necessary to fit the stage dimensions. You may also contact the show promoter in advance to find out the dimensions if they are not listed on the site.
DIVISIONS: Divisions are based on the following criteria. You may compete in as many divisions as you fit. Single or Duo: You can compete individually or with a partner "Fittest Duo".
Age: Athletes and performers of all ages compete in the General class. However, if you are 18 years or younger you have the option to compete in the Junior Class .
